    CRASH Japan Mission Statement

    "We serve local churches in Japan by mobilizing the body of Christ to bring help and hope to people affected by disaster."

    Statement of Faith

    We believe in Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God as the only mediator between sinful man and a holy God. We believe a person is saved by faith in Jesus Christ, His death, burial and resurrection.

    We believe the Bible to be the inspired, and infallible, authoritative Word of God.

    We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

    We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the Church.

    We believe that our faith should lead us to win people to Jesus, disciple people in Jesus, and send people for Jesus in obedience to His last command.

    We believe that the true basis of Christian fellowship is His love, which is greater than any differences we may have.  We believe that the world will know that we are Christians by our love.

    Code of Conduct

    "Live such good lives...that they may see your good deeds and glorify God" I Peter 2:12

    For the sake of the reputation of the church of Jesus Christ, we ask that every worker conduct themselves in a manner above reproach. To prevent cultural misunderstandings, during my service on site I will:

    • abstain from the use of alcohol or illegal drugs;
    • abstain from the use of tobacco products;
    • be culturally sensitive in relationships with the opposite sex
    • dress modestly

    *I understand that failure to abide by the Code of Conduct or failure to submit to CRASH leadership could result in my being asked to leave.

  • Please be aware of the following

    Participants living in Japan, please submit your application for volunteer service 2 weeks prior to your desired dates of service. Participants living overseas, please submit your application at least 1 month before your desired dates of service.

    We cannot guarantee  to provide you with your first choice of place, date of service or service project.

    As the living conditions at the bases are primitive in some cases and the work in the disaster area can be strenuous, it is recommended that you be in good health mentally, emotionally and physically.

  • Expenses

    The cost for your time at base will be 2000 yen per person per day.  This covers Housing and worker’s insurance.  Volunteers are responsible for their own overseas & in country travel costs.  You may pay at the base in cash, or they will give you a form to pay at the Japanese Post Office.
