  • Dear Holy Name Parents,

As a way to support the Church’s belief in family education, our Religious Education Program is pleased to offer the RCL / Benziger Family Life Program to all students from Kindergarten through Eighth grade.

The RCL / Benziger Family Life Program helps to foster personal growth, Catholic moral development, and respect for life. Centering on five of God’s gifts—family, self, life, love, and community—the textbooks for each grade level helps young people see, internalize, and act upon Catholic values. There are 10 lessons within each grade level.

Kindergarten to Fourth grade courses will be taught by the homeroom teachers and Fifth through Eighth grade courses will be taught by Mrs. Nolan. The courses will be taught throughout the school year. Along with the standard themes of Family Life, fifth and sixth grades will be taught Human Reproduction Courses as well.

The topics covered have been approved by the Archdiocese of San Francisco Department of Catholic Schools.A complete overview of what will be covered at each grade level is given in the Parent Handbook. Parents are encouraged to discuss the themes and topics in Family Life as well.

Please complete the permission slip at the bottom of this page, giving your approval of your child's attendance at the Family Life Program classes. If you do not wish your child to take these courses, they will be asked to not attend the class sessions (when Virtual learning) or during these class times and have time for free reading in another setting in the building. Thank you.
