VGO Technology Partnership Agreement

We consider our screens to be the "hallways" of our school and we always will be working hard to make them a safe space. Just like in a school with walls, it requires a partnership between the school staff, students, and parents to do this best.

We have lists of approved sites that we request our teachers abide by that protect student privacy and access to inappropriate content. However, no communication platform is 100% sin-proof. Because of this, we ask that all parents set parental permissions and closely monitor technology usage for their students.

Beginning in the 21-22 school year, VGO will utilize BARK FOR SCHOOLS, a schoolwide monitoring system for VGO G-Suite communication. BARK flags content that it identifies as inappropriate, threatening to self or others. These alerts come in as "Concerning", "Severe", and "Emergency." Parents that have accepted the BARK invite also will receive these alerts on the email specified. VGO staff may, on occasion, reach out to parents and students when these alerts are discovered, for insight, to offer help and resources. This is a free opportunity for all families, tied to your students' valorschool.org accounts. No other monitoring or filters are provided.
