Writing Residency

If you are a writer working on a first book, or a writer with a second (or third) book looking for a quiet place of your own with no distractions you might want to apply for this residency, which offers a month (November) in a cottage in the hill station of Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu. This is a lovely, rainy month for residents of this scenic hillstation hometown – conducive to staying in and reading and writing!

As the proprietor is a writer too, she knows how important a clean, well-lighted - and free - room is. You will stay at Mistover, 15 minutes from the town area, with a beautiful view of the Palani Hills mountain range and a picnic bench just by the front door.

2) a brief writing sample (maximum 2000 words) by 22 June ^th 2016.

The selected writer will be informed by September 1^st and will have the opportunity to work on their manuscript with an editor in Penguin Random House India.
