George Town Festival turns 8! Over the last seven festivals, we have hosted big name productions from diverse dance companies such as:
• Sutra & Play by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui
• Vertical Road & Kaash by Akram Khan
• Blinded Mind by Susanna Leinonen
and mind-opening plays:
• Broken Nails: A Marlene Dietrich Dialogue by Anna Skubik
• All That Fall by Pan Pan Theatre
• Manganiyar Seduction & Kitchen by Roysten Abel
We are also very proud of our local collaborations, namely:
• Hai Ki Sin Lor
• Moved by Padi by Ombak-Ombak ArtStudio
• Silat
as well as our sold-out commissioned plays:
• Two Houses
• Pearl of the Eastern and Oriental
Most recently, the festival has also brought in fascinating art pieces, including Theo Jansen’s Strandbeests and Matthieu Robert-Ortis’ “Revolution of the Giraffes”. Naturally, we want to maintain the energy and excitement and that’s where you come in!
Send us your projects and ideas in visual art, dance, theatre, music, opera, workshops, talks, street performances and more. Our favourite programmes are the ones that are
