  • Workshop: PhD opportunities at TUM in the field of Agricultural Economics

    The objective of this workshop is to provide

    1. an overview of funding opportunities from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for doctoral studies in Germany, with a focus on Agricultural Economics

    2. comprehensive understanding of doctoral studies in the field of Agricultural Production and Resource Economics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Germany

    Additionally, you will have the opportunity to present yourself and your research idea in 1-on-1 interviews with Prof. Dr. Sauer (Head of Chair of Agricultural Production and Resource Economics at TUM), who is going to issue a supervision letter to promising candidates. A supervision letter is required for the DAAD scholarship application. If you are successful there, you can start your PhD in mid-2018. Should you have other means of financing, it is even possible to start your PhD straight away.

    We are looking forward to your application if the following criteria apply to you:

    You have...

    • a first class M.Sc./M.A. degree, preferably from an IIT or IIM or high-ranked Agricultural university (you should receive/ have received your degree between mid-2012 and mid-2017)
    • experience in Applied Economics in the area of Agriculture and/or Resources
    • a quantitative research approach (Economics & Statistics)
    • empirical research experience (e.g. at Master level)
    • first publication experience (ideally)

    You are...

    • proficient in spoken and written English (German language proficiency not necessarily required, but would help)
    • a team player
    • a self-starter
