  • General Permission for Student Attendance at During, After School and Weekend Sports Tournaments and Educational Trips

    Each year, many of our students participate in a range of during, after school and weekend tournaments and educational trips.  

    We seek permission for your child, where applicable, to attend and participate in these tournaments and trips.

  • Class Parent Email Permission

    To help you and your child settle into your new class, we would like to put you in touch with your class parent prior to your child joining the school so they can offer support and answer any questions you might have. Please indicate below, if we can give your email address to your class parent.

  • DBIS Newsletters and Weekly Bulletins

    DBIS sends out to parents a weekly newsletter and a summary of the Parent Portal bulletins on the weekend.  In accordance with the HK Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, we need to ask you to OPT IN to receive this information and other communications from DBIS.

    Under the legislation, many of our day-to-day communications such as emails relating to, for example, Parent Evenings, the DBIS Food Fair and school performances, are now considered direct marketing and we are unable to send such information without your prior consent.

  • DBIS Online Digital Presence

    DBIS uses digital and online resources to support our teaching curriculum.  Your child will utilise a number of online resources during classroom lessons and for homework.  Access to these online resources is gradually introduced as your child progresses through our school.  

    Very young students will have limited and highly supervised access to such resources whilst senior students will be expected to utilise them fully in the classroom and for homework.  

    Parents and students are expected to read and agree to our Acceptable Use Policy, which states what is expected of the student and what, in return, the school will provide in terms of technology.  The school's Acceptable Use Policy can be found on the school website from this link.

    Use of Student Images

    The work and images of current and alumni students may be used in advertisements, school publications, websites and social media channels for marketing purposes and to promote and share learning. By signing this document I consent to use of my child's individual portraits, group photos and photos taken during school activities for use in school marketing and promotional materials, including but not limited to brochures, website, social media, and advertisements. Photos maybe to disclosed to DBIS authorised third parties. Please note parents may withdraw their consent for the use of their child's photos at any time by contacting helpdesk@dbis.edu.hk
