    Please ensure that the selected pieces do not exceed 7 minutes per video and are submitted via a valid YouTube link.
  • Video title should be in the following format

    Please ensure that your video submission is of a decent visual and audio quality. Videos should show the performer's face in clear view (no backlit videos, poor lighting, muffled audio, overly grainy visuals, etc.) with a minimum resolution of 480p. Submissions that do not comply with clarity standards may not be considered for shortlisting.

  •  GENERAL

    1. All applicants must be 30 years old and under no earlier than 21 September 2018.

    2. All applicants must provide a scanned copy of their valid identification documents.

    3. Applicants in solo division may apply for group division and vice versa, however a separate application must be made.

    4. Applicants in group division cannot be part of another group.

    5. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

    6. Applicants must pay the registration fee of SGD $25.00 for solo division or SGD $20.00 per group member for group division.

    7. The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

    8. Payment must be made via local bank transfer or PayPal.

  • VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

    1. Songs in each video submission must be from the list of repertoire for open call submission. Submission of songs outside the list of repertoire will be disqualified.

    2. Each video submission must be a live performance and all applicants must be clearly seen.

    3. The audio should be clear and discernible.

    4. Each video submission must not exceed 7 minutes.

    5. Submission must not contain any illegal or inappropriate content.

    6. Submission must not defame or misrepresent any person, organization or products.

  •  AVAILABILITY OF FINALISTS

    1. Solo applicants who are shortlisted for finals MUST BE AVAILABLE on 22 September at 11am to 5pm for SIJB SOLO DIVISION and the AWARD CEREMONY on 23 September from 6 to 8pm.

    2. Group applicants who are shortlisted for finals MUST BE AVAILABLE on 23 September 2018 at 1pm to 6:00pm for SIJB GROUP DIVISION and the AWARD CEREMONY on 23 September from 6 to 8pm.

    3. Solo finalists stand to win the Grand Prize of cash and a performance slot at WA-Meets-JAZZ in Japan on Mid Oct 2018.

    4. Group finalists stand to win the Grand Prize of cash and be a finalist at Thailand Jazz Competition organised by Silpakorn University, Thailand on Early April 2019.

    5. 5 finalists from Solo Division and 5 finalists from Group Division will be selected by a screening panel.

    6. Results will be released to all applicants via email on 30 July 2018.

    7. The criteria for the submissions will be determined by the regulations set by the screening panel.

    8. All results will be final and non-appealable.

    9. All finalists will perform a piece from the list of repertoire for finalists which will be released on 30 July 2018.

    10. In the event the finalist becomes unavailable on the dates stated in points 15 and 16, the finalist may be disqualified.

    11. In the event a finalist or winner is disqualified, the next highest scoring participant or finalist will be chosen.

    12. The organisers reserves the right to change the above info when necessary.
