The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) is set to launch the second edition of the Abu Dhabi Publishing Forum (ADPF) which will feature panel discussions, workshops and a tailored exhibition showcasing the most advanced technologies in the field of digital publishing, from the 28th – 30th January 2019, at Manarat Al Saadiyat.
Held under the theme “The Future of Digital Publishing: Technologies & Challenges – the Global Experience”, this year’s edition will focus on the significance of digital publishing in the era of the internet and technological advancement, and its vital role in spreading knowledge and ease of access to information across the globe.
The 2019 Forum will gather representatives from all over the book industry – whether print or digital – to connect and discuss major trends and topics related to digital publishing, its challenges and what the future holds. Additionally, the forum will present experiences from around the world that have succeeded in overcoming the challenges of electronic publishing and have become effective in communicating thought and culture to wider audiences.
The first edition of ADPF witnessed the participation of more than 80 specialists in the publishing industry from the Arab region and the world, who discussed the current issues in the publishing field and solutions that help overcome the challenges of printing, publishing and the distribution of books.
The online registration service aims to facilitate the process of counting visitors, in accordance with DCT Abu Dhabi’s quality and service standards. Launched towards developing the publishing industry in the UAE and the region, it provides insights on the reality of the local and international publishing markets, as well as the different segments and ages of readers.
