  • IV. ICS Doctrinal Statement of Faith

  • We believe in:

    a)    The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, their plenary inspiration by God and their supreme authority as the only rule of Christian faith and practice;

    b)    Only one true God eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who are the same in substance, equal in power and glory;

    c)     The Lord Jesus Christ who is true God and true man, the only mediator between God and man.  We believe in His eternal deity; conception by the Holy Spirit; birth by the virgin Mary; sinless humanity; miracles; substitutionary and atoning death, through His shed blood; bodily resurrection from the dead; ascension into heaven; and personal return in power and glory;

    d)    The personality and deity of the Holy Spirit by whom the believer is regenerated and sanctified and by whom the world is convinced of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment;

    e)    Man as originally created in the image and likeness of God as a rational, moral and spiritual being.  We believe, through the fall of man, all men are corrupted rationally, morally, spiritually, separated from God, and are born with a sinful nature;

    f)     Salvation solely by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ for all who repent and believe in Him.  Those who believe are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life and become the children of God;

    g)    The resurrection of the body, the judgment of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting and conscious punishment of the lost;

    h)    The spiritual unity of all who truly believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and their duty to maintain in all their relationships a standard of life and doctrine that is in conformity with the teachings of God's Holy Word.

    I certify the above doctrinal statement of faith to be an accurate and correct statement of my personal beliefs. I declare the information supplied on this application is accurate and complete to the best of my knowledge and I understand if I willfully give any false information, I shall render myself liable to dismissal, despite any appointment of service at ICS. I understand that ICS reserves the right to verify the accuracy of the above data.
