I am inviting friends to join me for a bouldering trip to Zoolander Bouldering area, in Khon Kaen, Thailand.
To get there, it's a 45 minute transfer flight from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport to Khon Kaen Airport.
I intend to be in Khon Kaen from 7 Nov 2019 (Thu) to 1 Dec 2019 (Sun).
You are welcome to join me for a grand bouldering adventure! There are a lot of boulders densely packed together in the forest, offering a range of difficulties. Regardless of your climbing ability, there are plenty of offerings for you.
There are a few main bouldering areas at Khon Kaen, from Power Station North and South, Central Park, Summer Flat and Water Park. Every season new boulders are being discovered.
You can refer to the site here for more details into the various options.
Recommended Trip Duration
For new climbers looking to explore the sport of bouldering, I recommend a 4D3N trip.
For seasoned climbers looking to project on climbers and optimise for peak climbing performance, I recommend a 7D6N trip.
Day 1: Full Day Boulder
Day 2: Half Day Boulder
Day 3: Rest and Relax
Day 4: Send Your Project Day
Recommended Group Size
The recommended group size is in a smaller groups of 3-4 pax, or a bigger group of 6-8 pax. This group size is limited by the number of people that can fit into a car, considering how we need boot space for the crash pads and gear.
You'll have to settle the flight, accommodation, food, entertainment and other miscellaneous expenses at your own cost.
Additionally, there is a recommended guiding fee of $500 for BMCs and $650 for non-BMCs. This fee is recommended, but not compulsory. But it will go a long way to help me to cover the cost of the organisation, logistics, car, fuel, crash pads and manpower.
You are welome to contribute more at the end of the trip if you find that you enjoyed the experience.
