Business Tax Return Checklist

When you submit this form you will receive a copy of this document, including this list of documentation required, via email.

From your accounting software, please provide the following reports in pdf format, where applicable:

Business Records

Business bank statements indicating the nature of each deposit ORa reconciled cashbook (or spreadsheet) showing all income and expenses

Cash Management Accounts and Term Deposits

Please provide statements showing balance at 30 June and total interest received for the financial year.

Rental property

Please provide statements of rental income received including annual agent statements, a summary of rental deductions, loan statements depreciation reports, etc.

Shares and/or managed funds

Please provide contract notes for all shares purchased or sold or a Broker reports summarising all transactions and holdings.Please provide dividend statements; together with details of any dividend reinvestments, share buy backs, bonus shares, rights issues, IPO’s, share purchase plans, mergers etc.Please provide tax statements for managed funds

Disposal of property, plant, equipment or motor vehicles

Please provide details, dates and values of sales.Please note that trading in an asset is disposal.

Purchase of plant, equipment or motor vehicles:

Please provide details, dates and values of purchases including the tax invoice.If the purchases were financed please provide the details including any finance paperwork.

Loans

Please provide statements for all loans owing by the business, with an end of financial year balance and interest paid.

Employees

Please provide copies of payment summaries and annual reconciliation for salaries and wages.Please provide a copy of the annual workcover rateable remuneration reconciliationPlease provide a copy of the annual payroll tax reconciliation (where appliable)Please provide details of any fringe benefits provided to employees, including to business owners and their associates.Please review your records relating to super contributions made for each employee and directors and ensure that you have met your obligations.

Motor Vehicles
